Ryōtarō Okiayu has one of those voices that instantly raises the prestige of any scene. Byakuya Kuchiki in Bleach, Treize in Gundam Wing, Mitsui in Slam Dunk, Tezuka in The Prince of Tennis, Nūbē, Alucard, Zero, the resume reads like a roll call of cool, composed characters. Hailing from Kokuraminami in Fukuoka, he brings a kind of grounded, low-register dignity that few can match.
