Shalita Grant

What I like about Shalita Grant is the stage-trained backbone she brings to television. She broke through on stage, winning a Theatre World Award in 2013, then found a wide audience as Special Agent Sonja Percy on NCIS: New Orleans. The range across Santa Clarita Diet, You, and Search Party tells me she's not interested in being typecast, and her willingness to speak her own mind reinforces that. Born in 1988, she still has plenty of road ahead. I tend to root for actors who climbed the hard way and arrived with a clear voice, and she strikes me as exactly that.
