My Take

What I respect most about Shawn Drover is the quiet discipline of being a drummer who held the engine room of a band as demanding as Megadeth. Drummers rarely get the spotlight, yet they decide whether everything else stands or falls, and his attention to gear and tone tells me he treated every beat as craft rather than noise. Coming out of Montreal and finding a home in American heavy metal is its own kind of journey. I have a soft spot for the dependable backbone players who make the flashy frontmen possible, and Drover strikes me as exactly that kind of unglamorous, essential pro.
