Skye Chan

Skye Chan's arc fascinates me precisely because it resists the tidy fairy tale. A Chinese University of Hong Kong graduate who worked as a flight attendant, then placed first runner-up at Miss Hong Kong 2008, fell short at Miss World, and clawed back to runner-up again at Miss Chinese International 2009. I am drawn to people who turn near-misses into momentum rather than excuses. The pivot from cabin crew to pageant stage to acting suggests real adaptability and grit. In a field obsessed with winners, her repeated second places read to me as quiet, durable resilience.
