My Take
Sonequa Martin-Green radiates a steel I deeply admire. Whether as Sasha on The Walking Dead or Michael Burnham on Star Trek: Discovery, she holds the screen with a steady, unflinching gaze that anchors chaos around her. Leading a Star Trek series as its central character carries weight beyond the role itself, and she shoulders it with grace. From a small town in Alabama to the bridge of a starship, her trajectory is its own kind of inspiration. That she also writes tells me she wants to author her own narrative, and I respect that ambition enormously.
