My Take
Stacey Abrams is, to me, one of the more genuinely consequential figures of her generation, and not because of the offices she did or did not win. A Spelman-educated lawyer who led the Democratic minority in the Georgia House, she pivoted defeat into purpose by founding Fair Fight Action to confront voter suppression. That instinct to build durable institutions rather than chase headlines is what I admire most. She also writes novels, which tells you she contains more than the political caricature suggests. I value people who stay loyal to a principle and grind patiently to move the system, and she clearly does.
