My Take
What I respect about Stephan Jenkins is the contradiction he embodies: a Berkeley-educated guy raised in Palo Alto who could have coasted on intellect but instead poured everything into raw, hook-laden alternative rock. Third Eye Blind's late-90s run wasn't just catchy; it carried the restless energy of someone with something to prove after a failed rap duo. He has always struck me as a frontman who treats pop melody as a vehicle for sharper emotion than the radio gave him credit for. That he is still writing and touring decades later tells me the drive was never about the moment, but the craft.
