My Take
Setting the adult genre aside, what interests me about Steve Holmes is the trajectory. Born in Sibiu during Romania's communist era, he crossed into the West and climbed to the very top of his industry, an AVN Hall of Fame induction and a long shelf of awards. More telling to me is that he moved beyond performing into producing and directing, becoming a maker rather than just a participant. I tend to respect anyone who reaches the summit of their field and then chooses to build the thing itself. Whatever the arena, mastery plus the will to create earns my genuine regard.
