Stevie Young

Stevie Young is one of rock's great understudies who stepped out of the shadows at just the right moment — and nailed it. Born in Glasgow into the Young family that basically invented hard rock (his uncles Malcolm and Angus founded AC/DC), Stevie had been filling in for the band on and off for decades before he got the permanent call in 2014. When Malcolm was forced to retire due to dementia, Stevie didn't just hold down the rhythm guitar chair — he seamlessly preserved that locked-in, locomotive groove that makes AC/DC sound like no other band on earth. Rock or Bust proved the band could carry on, and a lot of that credit goes to Stevie quietly doing what Youngs do best: playing tight, playing loud, and making it look effortless.
