Stijn Schaars

What draws me to Stijn Schaars is the quiet logic of his career arc. A versatile box-to-box midfielder is, to my mind, the most cerebral position on the pitch, so his pivot from playing into managing Jong PSV feels less like reinvention and more like the natural next chapter. I have a soft spot for footballers who choose the unglamorous, patient work of developing young players over chasing the spotlight. Coming out of a small corner of Gelderland and building a steady professional life, he strikes me as a craftsman rather than a star, and I respect that kind of substance far more than flash.
