My Take

Winston Bogarde represents the kind of defender I find easy to respect. A 190cm Dutch centre-back born in Rotterdam, he passed through Ajax, AC Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea, a resume few players ever match. What stands out to me is his physical reliability and the versatility to drop to left-back when needed. Defenders rarely get the spotlight that strikers do, but attacks only sparkle because someone like Bogarde holds the line.
