Tadaharu Sakai

Honestly, guys like Tadaharu Sakai are the ones I respect most in baseball. At 177 cm he was never going to be the towering slugger hogging the highlight reel, and I get the sense he never wanted to be. The vibe I get is a steady, versatile, do-whatever-the-team-needs kind of player — the type who shows up early, stays late, and quietly keeps things from falling apart. And then he moves into coaching, which honestly tracks perfectly. The guys who had to fight hardest just to stick around usually make the best teachers because they actually understand the struggle. No flashy social media presence, no big public profile — just the work. I respect that more than I can say.
