Yanai Yumena

I've got a soft spot for the ones who grind their way up, and Yanai Yumena reads like exactly that to me. A girl from Koriyama in Fukushima, born in 2000, who won the Miss Seventeen grand prix in 2017 and became an exclusive model for Seventeen. That 164cm frame photographs clean and tall, sure, but honestly the modeling isn't what hooks me. It's that she didn't park there. She leaned into acting too, like she quietly decided "watch me do both," and I find that kind of greed for range really likable. She's not the loud tabloid-bait type, more the slow-burn sort whose work sneaks up on you later. I'm just rooting for her.
