Terence Lam

Terence Lam interests me as a Hong Kong artist who wears several hats at once, composer, singer-songwriter, and producer, having reportedly sat at a piano by the age of four or five. I have a soft spot for musicians who both write and sing, because that closed loop lets emotion travel straight from the heart to the listener without dilution. His Lingnan University background in English studies makes me suspect a writer's ear shapes his lyrics. Cantopop carries a wistful, intimate texture I genuinely admire, and Lam feels like someone worth sitting with on a quiet evening, headphones on, paying close attention.
