Takumi Kuriyama

I'll be honest, Takumi Kuriyama is the kind of player I have a soft spot for: the lifer, the one-club guy who just keeps showing up. Born in Hyogo back in 1983 and still swinging a bat well past forty, he's the opposite of a flashy slugger you chase highlight reels for. He's the steady outfielder who quietly piles up hits season after season until you look up and the career numbers are genuinely staggering. There's something deeply satisfying about that kind of loyalty and consistency, the unglamorous craft of doing your job well for two decades straight. At 177cm he's not towering over anyone, and watching a veteran like that hold his own among kids half his age, mentoring just by example, is honestly one of my favorite things in baseball. Respect.
