I still get a lump in my throat thinking about Hana Kimura. She was this dazzling pink-haired pro wrestler out of Yokohama, all of 22, the kind of performer who lit up a ring and made you want to cheer louder. I love that she came up in a world of joshi wrestling and brought such warmth and showmanship to it, loud and bright and generous with her fans online. What happened to her in 2020 still guts me, and I won't pretend otherwise: a bright young person hounded by cruelty from people who never had to look her in the eye.
