My Take
Thom Yorke is the rare artist whose restlessness I trust completely. Plenty of musicians reinvent themselves to stay relevant; Yorke tears his own formulas apart because comfort seems to bore him. What strikes me most is that beneath all the electronic abstraction and rhythmic experiments, his falsetto still carries the same raw anxiety it did decades ago. The experiments change, the honesty does not. I think he is one of the few singers whose voice alone counts as an instrument of ideas. Every time I revisit his catalogue, something I once dismissed suddenly makes sense, and that, to me, is the mark of a genuinely great artist.
