My Take

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is one of those careers I find genuinely poignant. An Amsterdam-born defender who came up through Ajax's academy and then got handed his Premier League debut at Manchester United as a teenager, he looked destined for big things. What strikes me is how versatility cut both ways for him: he could play centre-back, full-back or defensive midfield, yet that adaptability never quite let him nail down one position. Loans to Crystal Palace and Fulham, then Bayer Leverkusen, and now a free agent. I'd love to see him land somewhere stable, because the talent was never the question for me.
