Tionne Watkins

T-Boz is, to me, one of the most underrated voices of the 1990s. As the steadying core of TLC she helped sell millions and collect four Grammys, but it's that low, husky tone that I keep coming back to, instantly recognizable and impossible to imitate. From Des Moines to the top of the charts is no small leap, and her solo run plus acting and writing show a curiosity that never settled. Knowing she pushed through serious health battles while staying relevant for decades only deepens my respect. She's proof that distinctiveness outlasts trends every time.
