My Take

Chimel is exactly the kind of behind-the-scenes craftsman I love highlighting. Nearly four decades as a WWE ring announcer, from 1983 to 2020, is a staggering run in an industry that chews people up. Fans cheer the wrestlers, but it's that booming announcer's voice that flips the switch on a crowd's energy the moment a star's entrance hits. That timing is an art most people never notice. His later pivot to producing at AEW shows he understood the show from every angle. I have deep respect for people who spend a career making others look great.
