My Take
Toshiyuki Morikawa is, to my ear, one of the most luxurious voices in Japanese anime and dubbing. He can be a smooth leading man or a menacing villain without missing a beat, and the awards in 2015 and 2019 confirm a range most actors envy. But what truly impresses me is that he founded and runs his own agency, Axlone, mentoring the next generation. That makes him both master craftsman and steward of the craft. Plenty of performers are talented; few also carry the industry on their shoulders. He earns my admiration on both counts.
