My Take
Trace Lysette is someone I find quietly important. Her Shea in Transparent and Tracey in Hustlers showed real range, but it is her presence in the documentary Disclosure that frames how I see her: an artist whose visibility itself does work. As a trans actress, she is not only inhabiting roles but reshaping who gets to be seen and how. I value performers who carry that double weight without letting it flatten their craft, and she manages exactly that. I suspect her best and most visible work is still ahead, and I am genuinely curious to follow it.
