My Take

Trent Thornton's path is the kind I quietly root for. A Pittsburgh kid out of North Carolina, he debuted as a starter with the Blue Jays in 2019, then accepted a move to the bullpen from 2021, which means rebuilding both his role and his routine. Reinventing yourself like that without sulking takes maturity, and he kept throwing well enough to earn a call-up to the Cubs in May 2026.
