My Take
Vashti Bunyan's story moves me more than almost any chart-topping career could. She released a debut album in 1970, sold almost nothing, lost heart, and walked away from music entirely. Decades later the world circled back and finally recognized that record as a quiet masterpiece, and she returned to singing. To me that is proof that being early is not the same as being wrong. What I admire is that she kept her voice intact through all those silent years, so that when recognition finally arrived she still had something true to offer. That patience is its own kind of artistry.
