My Take
What fascinates me about Zelenskyy is the sheer improbability of his arc. A comedian who played a fictional president on Servant of the People, then actually became one, is the kind of premise no screenwriter would dare pitch. But the man who emerged after the full-scale invasion silenced every skeptic. The resolve to stay when leaving was easy, the instinct to communicate directly and humanly, those came from somewhere real. He grew up in Kryvyi Rih in a Russian-speaking Jewish family and earned a law degree before choosing comedy. I suspect knowing comedy taught him exactly when not to flinch. The Financial Times honor felt earned.
