Warren DeMartini is, in my view, an underrated craftsman from the glam-metal era. As Ratt's lead guitarist he could easily have leaned on flashy speed, yet what I love is how melodic and song-serving his playing remained, those crying tones on Round and Round still echo in my head. Coming from Chicago and shaping his sound on the West Coast, he strikes me as a true journeyman who let the music speak.
