My Take

Wilson is the kind of Brazilian striker I find quietly admirable, the sort who keeps scoring without ever becoming a household name abroad. A forward listed at Mirassol, he reads to me as a journeyman in the best sense: someone whose job is simply to put the ball in the net wherever he lands. At 181 cm he's not an aerial giant, so I'd guess his goals came from positioning and finishing rather than sheer size. I don't have his full goal tally in front of me, but a long career as a working striker in Brazil's competitive leagues earns my respect on its own.
