Wu Jinyan

Wu Jinyan earned my attention with Story of Yanxi Palace, where she made a scheming, sharp-witted heroine genuinely magnetic across all of Asia. Carrying a Chinese period drama is a demanding job, and she conveys calculation behind a single glance in a way that takes real craft. What impresses me most is that she did not become a one-hit name; The Double shows she can sustain a career rather than ride a single sensation. Born in Chengdu in 1990, she is one of the few actresses I trust to anchor this difficult genre, and I will keep watching closely.
