Yasutaka Tobashira

I'll be honest, I have a soft spot for catchers, and Yasutaka Tobashira is exactly the kind of guy who gets me. Picture that 179cm frame crouched behind the plate, calling pitch after pitch, absorbing foul tips, steadying a rattled pitcher when the inning's coming apart. He's not the highlight-reel slugger, but he's the steady hand quietly running the whole defense, and I love that craftsman energy. There's something deeply reassuring about a player who's lasted this long at such a grinding position. To me, just enduring back there is its own kind of cool, and I find myself rooting for him without even trying.
