Yerry Rodriguez represents exactly the kind of journey that pulls me in. A Dominican pitcher who has bounced from the Texas Rangers to the Toronto Blue Jays and now into the Yankees organization, he lives in a world where one bad inning can end everything. Bullpen survival demands a stubbornness I deeply admire. Born in 1997, he still has plenty of road ahead, and I'd love to see that island fastball tested under the brightest lights. There's a romance to fighting your way up from the Dominican Republic to baseball's grandest stages, and Rodriguez is still writing that chapter. I'm cheering for him.
