Yūki Mima

Yūki Mima — honestly, if you handed me that name written in kanji I'd have absolutely no shot at reading it on the first try, and I respect that level of name difficulty. He's a former baseball player out of Naruto City, Tokushima, and something about growing up in the city famous for those giant whirlpools gives me the mental image of a guy who just quietly grinds while everything swirls around him. At 177 cm he was not the biggest man on the field, yet his calling cards were power, with 28 home runs in high school, and a 115-metre throwing arm. He played for Hiroshima and SoftBank before retiring, and now works as an electrician in Aichi, a quiet second act that I find genuinely admirable.
