Yurika Nakamura

Born in Kanagawa in 1997 to a Japanese father and a Taiwanese mother, Yurika Nakamura was scouted in Shibuya at thirteen and is known mainly for the live-action Kakegurui franchise and Chaser Game W; in 2022 she started releasing music, and at the end of 2023 she went independent. The detail I find telling is the second job sitting beside actress: narrator. Voice work is unusual for a young performer in an industry that runs on being looked at, and holding a scene with nothing but your voice is a genuinely different craft. She has been quietly widening the range of things she can be hired to do. In my experience that is the profile still working a decade later, long after flashier debuts have gone quiet.
