Aaron Pedersen

Aaron Pedersen is, for me, a master of stillness. As Detective Jay Swan in Mystery Road and Goldstone, he carried grief and weariness in his eyes rather than his lines, and that economy of expression is rare and precious. An Aboriginal actor of Arrernte and Arabana descent from Alice Springs, he tells the story of a land and its people through presence alone. I prize performers who trade flash for quiet presence, and Pedersen is exactly that kind of actor, unforgettable once seen.
