My Take

Aaron Stanford will always be Pyro to me, that cocky, flame-flicking kid who stole scenes in the X-Men films and returned, satisfyingly, in Deadpool & Wolverine. A Rutgers-educated New Englander from Westford, he has a knack for playing edgy, slightly dangerous characters and giving them real interior life. His turns as Birkhoff in Nikita and Cole in 12 Monkeys show an actor who elevates genre material rather than coasting on it. He's never been a marquee superstar, but he's the kind of dependable performer who quietly raises the quality of everything he joins.
