My Take
Model, then network announcer, then model and actress again. Written out it sounds effortless. I doubt it was. Akiko Kuji joined Fuji Television in 2017 and left in 2022, and a Japanese station announcer's job is essentially to thin yourself out until you become the vessel for the programme. Modelling is the reverse: you earn a living off your own outline. She did both, then built somewhere to go after walking away from a secure post at a national broadcaster. That is the part I find quietly intimidating. From Oshu in Iwate to Aoyama Gakuin University, 166 cm, a career that looks smooth from outside. What I see is someone who gave up stability on purpose.
