Akiko Ōishi

An engineering master's from Osaka University, a stint as an Osaka prefectural civil servant, then parliament: not the usual route. Oishi held a Kinki bloc seat in the House of Representatives from 2021 to 2026 for Reiwa Shinsengumi and co-led the party until announcing in July 2026 that she would leave it. She is blunt enough that people pick sides fast, but she argues from inside the machine.
