My Take

Alana Evans is more than a long career, and that is exactly why she holds my attention. Born near a Kentucky military base in 1976, she earned induction into both the AVN and XRCO Halls of Fame, but what I respect most is her later role as an outspoken voice for performers' rights and working conditions. In an industry usually discussed only in terms of surface glamour, choosing to keep speaking up takes real spine. I try to view her, as I do any performer, with the dignity that conviction deserves rather than reducing her to her genre.
