My Take
Aleksandr Marshal, born Minkov in Korenovsk, fascinates me as a true musical all-rounder: composer, singer-songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist all in one. Earning the title of Merited Artist of Russia is no small feat, and the cluster of military and state honors hints at an artist whose work carries weight and gravitas rather than easy pop charm. He also has a website and an Instagram account, and he strikes me as the kind of weathered performer who bets everything on voice and conviction. I find that refusal to fade quietly admirable, and I'm genuinely curious to sit down and listen to his catalog.
