Alex Meraz

Alex Meraz interests me precisely because he refuses to be only an actor. A trained martial artist and dancer from Mesa, Arizona, he carries a physical conviction that the camera loves. Many remember him as the werewolf Paul in New Moon, but I am more drawn to how he kept evolving, taking a role like the Border Patrol agent in Dark Winds rather than coasting on early fame. That choice signals an artist who wants range, not nostalgia. I respect performers who treat their body as a craft, and I expect Meraz to keep maturing into richer, grittier roles.
