Amanda Wyss

Amanda Wyss occupies a special place for me as a face of 1980s American teen and horror cinema. Lisa in Fast Times, Tina in the original A Nightmare on Elm Street, Beth in Better Off Dead, these are roles that lodge permanently in a generation's memory. Playing the character who exits early in a slasher is harder than it looks; you have to make the audience care fast. She did, and that lingering imprint matters more to me than any trophy. There is real value in being woven into the cultural fabric of an era, and Wyss earned it.
