My Take

Andre Ethier is a player I associate with the steady, unglamorous excellence the Dodgers leaned on for over a decade. Drafted by Oakland but spending all of 2006 through 2017 in Los Angeles, he gave one city his entire major-league life, which I find genuinely admirable in a sport built on trades. The 2009 Silver Slugger, 2011 Gold Glove, and two All-Star nods show a complete outfielder who could hit and field. Rising from a community-college path makes the climb even more impressive to me. Ethier's quiet loyalty and two-way reliability are exactly the traits I tend to value most.
