My Take
What strikes me about Andreja Pejić is not her runway versatility, remarkable as it is, but the quiet courage underneath it. Walking both men's and women's shows before she publicly came out as a trans woman in 2013, she forced the fashion world to reconsider its categories rather than asking permission to exist within them. I admire people who refuse to shrink themselves to fit a label, and Pejić has done exactly that on one of the most scrutinized stages on earth. Her real achievement, to me, is making authenticity look effortless when it almost never is.
