Andrew J. West

Andrew J. West is, for me, defined by a single chilling turn: Gareth, the soft-spoken cannibal leader on The Walking Dead. He took what could have been a throwaway villain and made him genuinely unsettling, earning a jump from guest star to series regular and a Saturn Award nomination. That tells me everything about his instinct for menace played quietly. Born in Indiana in 1983, he strikes me as an actor who lets the role do the talking rather than chasing the spotlight. I'd happily watch him sink his teeth into more morally complex parts.
