Anna Torv

Anna Torv is one of those performers whose talent the awards finally caught up to. Her four consecutive Saturn Awards for Olivia Dunham on Fringe, a record no one else holds, hint at how completely she anchored that show. But what genuinely impresses me is her range afterward: the coiled, watchful psychologist Wendy Carr in Mindhunter, then the weary survivor Tess in The Last of Us. She gravitates toward roles built on restraint, letting tension simmer rather than explode. I trust her instantly on screen, and I think that quiet authority is precisely why she keeps landing prestige work. A genuinely durable actor.
