Art Evans

Art Evans is the kind of actor whose face I recognized long before I ever knew his name, and that's a particular kind of greatness. Across five decades of film and television, he was the reliable presence that anchored scenes without demanding the spotlight, the working character actor who shows up, delivers, and lets the leads shine. Born in Berkeley in 1942 and passing in late 2024, he built a career on consistency rather than flash. I have a deep respect for performers like him, the ones who make an entire industry run. His longevity alone tells you he was trusted, and that means everything in this business.
