Atsushi Onita

I have such a soft spot for Atsushi Onita. He's the guy who built a whole career on barbed wire, exploding rings, and electric current, bleeding through some of the most insane deathmatches Japan ever produced, and then the bell rings and he grabs the mic and just sobs his heart out. That contrast wrecks me every time. He's the king of the dramatic retirement too, swearing he's done and strolling back like clockwork, and honestly I've stopped rolling my eyes and started treating it as pure theater. What gets me is the refusal to stay in one lane: wrestler, actor, politician, TV personality, all of it at once. He's not slick or calculated, he's clumsy and burning hot, charging in on raw feeling, and that old-school Showa spirit still clings to him.
