My Take
What interests me about Barack Obama is the writer underneath the politician. Two Grammy wins for narrating his own audiobooks, a Nobel Peace Prize awarded largely on the strength of rhetoric, and a memoir, A Promised Land, that reads like literature: language was always his real instrument of power. Plenty of leaders have policies; very few can make a nation feel narrated.
