My Take

I think Barbie Ferreira mattered most for who she let people see themselves as. Her turn as Kat Hernandez in Euphoria gave the show one of its most relatable arcs, and coming up as a plus-size model in an industry that rarely made room felt genuinely consequential. Being from East Harlem and breaking through on her own terms reads, to me, like someone who refused to wait for permission. I appreciate that her Out100 recognition placed her in a wider conversation than fashion alone. She strikes me as a performer whose presence carried a message, whether or not she set out to deliver one.
