Barbie Hsu

Barbie Hsu, Big S, was a true Taiwanese icon, an actress, singer, and host who, with her sister Little S, grew from a teen pop duo into a defining entertainment force. Her passing in 2025 at just 48 hit hard. I'm drawn to performers who refuse to be boxed in, and she clearly was one, moving fluidly between music, drama, and television with a charisma that felt both glamorous and grounded. A life that touched so many can't really be called short. I'd rather remember the warmth and reach of what she built than the years she was denied.
