My Take
Ben Moody fascinates me because he co-founded Evanescence and then walked away in 2003, right as Fallen made them huge. Leaving at the peak is a choice I find genuinely intriguing rather than reckless. What I respect is the second act: he reinvented himself as a writer-producer for Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion, and others, proving the craft behind the band wasn't a one-off. The Arkansas-to-stadiums arc appeals to me too. I tend to think the people who shape hits from behind the glass are undervalued, and Moody is a clear case of a founder who found a quieter, durable creative life.
